Our Mission Statement
The Newport Yacht Club Endowment Fund supports marine educational projects and activities in and around Newport and the Narragansett Bay area.
An Overview of the Endowment Fund
The Endowment makes grants and gifts from the interest, dividends, or other earned income the Endowment Fund generates. Letter Specific Gifts, gifts that are specifically denoted for some use, will be granted or gifted in accordance with such Letters of Specificity. The Endowment accepts specific gifts for activities such as the Junior Sailing Programs or Scholarship Programs and makes awards based upon the needs and funds available for distribution in the fund. The Trustees may make grants to any worthy person, organization, project, or club activity.
The Newport Yacht Club Endowment Fund (NYCEF) solicits funds and bequests from all available sources and is an approved Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) Non-profit Corporation offers tax incentives to those making donations. Trustees of the Fund are available to answer questions and assist all prospective donors.
The Endowment operates with the assistance of yacht club members and the general public to promote and run at least one annual fund raising event which includes the post-drive announcement of grants as designated by the Trustees. The Endowment accepts donations from businesses, charitable organizations, club members, and other benefactors.
Your gift will add to the Funds ability to educate and give light to the future mariners of our area and to help direct the way to safe harbors by educating individuals in the rich maritime environment of the Narragansett Bay and Newport ,RI.
